The American Farm Bureau Federation in a letter to Congressional leaders has stated that proposed tax policies and changes could negatively impact American farming for generations. Changes could include increased estate taxes, a change in deductions, and more.
ODFW Investigates Another Wolf Incident
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating the death of a calf in Wallowa County. It’s believed wolves from the wildcat pack were to blame.

Funds Available for Workers Affected by COVID
The USDA is providing much-needed funds to farmers, meat packers, and grocery store workers who incurred COVID-19 related expenses. The funds total $700 million.
Septic Systems and Wells Affected by Wildfires
According to groundwater protection experts with Oregon State University Extension Service, hundreds of wells and septic systems need to be evaluated and worked on in the areas of the Echo Mountain Fire Complex in Lincoln County, Oregon. Specialists are currently evaluating needs and possible repairs.

Feed Transport Cost Assistance Available
The USDA, in response to drought conditions in the west, says it will help cover some transportation costs incurred by farmers and ranchers who had to bring in feed due to a lack of grazing options. The agency says details will be shared soon with the public.
