Coastal Customer & Employee Profile: Hart Family Legacy Vineyards

Tim Hart has always been a little interested in vineyards and winemaking. While studying at Oregon State University, he and his college buddies converted his dorm-room closet into a wine cellar and filled it with bottles from some of the region’s great wineries. Fast forward a few decades, and Tim and his wife Roidawn Hart are producing their own wine, tending to 9 acres of vines, and both working full-time at Coastal. They’re busy and happy – working toward their retirement dream of running a tasting room, selling their wine, and living happily ever after.

Hart Family Legacy Vineyards uses Coastal for almost everything on the farm, including their work clothes, fertilizers, and more.

“The neat thing about Coastal is that they carry quality merchandise,” Tim said. “They know people want value. Especially country folk.”

While it might be a full-time hobby now, we know Tim and Roidawn’s determination, grit, and know-how will produce some of the best wines in the Umpqua Valley and set them up for a wonderfully rewarding retirement on their 30-acre property in Garden Valley.
