Program Helps Farmers and Ranchers with Depression
Thanks to an Oregon State University Extension Service program, farmers and ranchers dealing with depression have access to much-needed assistance. The program called QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and is designed to help reduce the number of suicides in the farming community.

Washington Lawmakers Approve 40-Hour Ag Work Week
According to Pacific Northwest Ag Network, Washington State Senate Bill 5172 will grant overtime pay to ag workers starting in January 2022. It is the first bill of its kind to bring a 40-hour work week to ag workers in the country.

Every year, the National Corn Yield Contest recognizes farmers for exceptional results. Two farmers in Oregon were chosen among the winners. They included Nolan Mills and Vern Frederickson, both of Boardman, Oregon.
